The SALVA application, developed by the Center for Research on US Latino, HIV/AIDS, & Drug Abuse (CRUSADA) at Florida International University (FIU), represents a significant advancement in supporting underserved populations. Typically, connecting marginalized communities to vital resources requires the intensive training of community health workers. However, SALVA streamlines this process by consolidating a wealth of information on available community services and making it readily accessible. This empowers residents, allowing them to connect with the assistance they require.

With its extensive database, SALVA provides critical information on local nonprofit and government organizations that offer a range of services, including substance abuse support, assistance for victims of violence, legal aid, HIV/AIDS testing and treatment, housing assistance, financial support, educational programs, and much more. The application’s bilingual capabilities and comprehensive content enhance its utility for diverse community members.
